Feel Alive. Be Awake. Stay Attuned.

Do you long to feel more alive, awake, and connected? Do you want to live with passion and purpose? Are you interested in honoring what your heart is longing for and willing to listen to what your body is communicating to you? Can you imagine making all of your decisions based on your intuition?

If you’ve answered “Yes” to these questions, just notice how your body feels.

Most certainly, we can address your history of trauma, the losses you’ve faced throughout your lifetime, and the deep seated fears that keep you up at night. We can discuss the life-changing impact of your chronic illness, the insecurities it creates, and your effective and ineffective coping strategies.

Your circumstances, and your feelings about your circumstances,  are ALL valid and belong. But they do not define you. You are so much more than your diagnosis, your past experiences, or your fears about the future.

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

How I Can Help

My approach to healing simultaneously addresses the Body, the Mind, and the Spirit. As Aristotle said, “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts,” and being out of alignment in one of these areas, effects alignment in all areas. This is why people might go to therapy for a long time but see few results.

Instead of focusing on “symptom reduction,” I choose to focus on incorporating life-enhancing practices that transcend labels and diagnoses, fostering balanced well-being.

You may wonder, what does this actually look like?

Together, we will identify the subtle but powerful beliefs that influence your perceptions of life, yourself, and others, and gather evidence for their validity. Together, we will explore body-based interventions that target physiology, particularly the nervous system. Together, we will explore your purpose in this lifetime, identifying what your heart yearns for, fortifying your intuition and using it as a compass as you navigate this world.

The treatment modalities that I most commonly utilize are rooted in:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy

About Me

Before opening my private practice, I spent twenty years working with veterans diagnosed with concurrent mental health and substance use disorders in psychiatric crisis. To be transparent, my own history of trauma and interest in healing from PTSD made this work very meaningful for me and I intended to retire from the VA until an unexpected autoimmune illness abruptly ended my career. My body wasn’t making energy, I was bed-bound, unable to prepare my meals, walk my dog, clean my home, and eventually my physician suggested that I file for disability since there was “no cure” for my illness.

Nothing could have prepared me for that. I spent my entire life up until that point, recovering, stretching, growing, changing, accepting, praying, mediating, forgiving, and asking to be forgiven. I felt duped and abandoned by a divine power that I grew to trust and believed had my back. I was so angry. And absolutely terrified. My feelings were valid. And frankly, they were necessary, in order to crack me open wide enough to listen in a way that I never had before.

Lying in the same bed that I’d been in for months, imagining an entire world moving on without me, there was this fleeting moment when my anguish suddenly morphed into the most beautiful peace I’d ever known. I noticed that when I surrendered to the present moment, I was enveloped by a spacious, loving, abundant awareness that I longed for my entire life. Suddenly, the curse of an illness that I believed stole my life from me, turned into an opportunity to reframe my entire life narrative. And from there, my new healing journey began.

I share this because I am you and you are me. We are all part of this human experience, searching for a juicy, rich, life-affirming energy, that is right under our own nose. This is good news.

As a therapist, I am efficient, pragmatic, and offer a relaxed atmosphere, with hopeful presence, riddled with far too many F-bombs!

Additionally, I am a Certified Wim Hof Instructor and offer private and public workshops related to Oxygen Utilization and Cold Immersion.
